*Hotel Reservation Policy: Attendees must submit a credit card, or a deposit equal to the first night’s room rate, plus tax as a guarantee, at the time the reservation is made. Attendee’s credit card will be charged the (1) night’s room rate plus tax at that time. Deposits are only refundable for cancellations received by ARIA at least (48) hours in advance of the confirmed arrival date. A daily resort fee, currently $25, will be waived for attendees that reserve a room within the ACFE room block. 1. TO ENTER. You will be automatically entered once you register online or by mail, phone or fax for the 24th Annual ACFE Fraud Conference & Exhibition.” Contestants may also enter by sending a postcard with “Enter me to win free nights at the ARIA!” to ACFE World Headquarters, 716 West Avenue, Austin, TX 78701. No purchase is necessary to enter and a purchase will not improve your chances of winning. Entries must be submitted by August 31, 2012. Only one entry per person. No other form of entry is permitted except as provided above. ACFE will not be responsible or liable for incomplete, misdirected, or late entries.
2. WINNER. One winner will receive a 3-night stay at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada for the nights of June 23-25, 2013. The winner will randomly be drawn on September 3, 2012 from all eligible entries received. Details of the prize, including retail value, are set forth above. All expenses related to use of the prize not mentioned herein as awarded (including without limitation, transportation to and from the hotel, airport taxes, alcohol, in-room charges) are the responsibility of the winner. Another prize of approximately equal cash value may be substituted by ACFE. Odds of winning depend on the number of entries. Winner will be notified within seven (7) days of drawing.
3. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY. By entering, entrants release and hold harmless ACFE, its affiliates and subsidiaries, and their respective directors, agents, officer, employees, from any and all liability or any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with the contest or any prize won. Without limiting the foregoing, ACFE specifically disclaims any liability or responsibility for damage, expense or inconvenience, or for any loss, injury, death or damage to any person or property at any hotel, or in transit to or from said hotel, or for any cause whatsoever due to delays, cancellations, mechanical breakdowns, government actions, strikes or acts of God.
4. TRANSFER AND SUBSTITUTION OF PRIZE. Hotel prize must be accepted as awarded and is not transferable to cash or to another person. Prize may not be substituted for other alternative prizes, but ACFE reserves the right to substitute a prize with one of equal or greater value. Winner may waive the right to receive a prize. In the event that a winner so waives his or her right to receive a prize, or if a winner cannot be contacted by ACFE within thirty (30) days of the date of selection of that prize, or in the event that a winner is ineligible to win the contest, ACFE will choose another winner by random selection from all remaining valid entries, and will notify the winner in the same manner provided above.
5. ELIGIBILITY. The contest is open to ACFE members in good standing residing in the United States. Must be 21 years or older to win. Void where prohibited by law. All directors, agents, officers and employees of ACFE or of any ACFE affiliate or subsidiary are not eligible. Winner may be required to execute an affidavit of eligibility and compliance with contest rules and a liability and publicity release.
6. TAXES. All taxes and other associated costs and fees on the prize won are the sole responsibility of the winner.
7. USE OF ENTRANT INFORMATION. Entry constitutes permission to post winner’s names and likenesses in ACFE magazines, newsletters and web pages, and to use Winner’s name and likeness for purposes of advertising and promotion without further compensation unless prohibited by law. Except for the foregoing, all information supplied by entrants will be maintained by ACFE in accordance with its established privacy and confidentiality policies.
8. GENERAL CONDITIONS. This contest is governed by the laws of the State of Texas. It is void where prohibited by law. ACFE is not responsible for lost, interrupted or unavailable network server or other connections, miscommunications, failed telephone or computer transmissions, or any other error of any kind whether human, mechanical or electronic. ACFE is not responsible for any problem with a contest entry generated by computer hardware or software malfunction, error or failure. ACFE may terminate the contest or modify it in any manner which ACFE deems fair and equitable to entrants if it becomes aware of any occurrence which would materially affect the contest’s security or fairness. ACFE may disqualify or prohibit individuals from participating in the contest if they fail to abide by these official rules. ACFE’s decisions with regard to the contest are final.
