Sharon Armstrong has 20 years of experience as a Human Resources consultant, trainer and career counselor. She is also an author of three books including The Essential HR Handbook and The Essential Performance Review Handbook. Since launching her own consulting business in 1998, Sharon Armstrong and Associates, she has consulted with many large corporations, small businesses and individual professionals. She has provided training and completed HR projects for a wide variety of clients in the profit and non-profit sectors.

Armstrong has a keen sense for what companies seek in their top candidates and enjoys coaching professionals towards their goals.

Glenn Bass, CPA

Glenn Bass is a CPA and serves as Director of Recruiting Services for SI Placement. He has more than 12 years of executive search experience and previously worked for a Maryland-based recruiting and staffing firm. He headed their executive recruiting division focused on senior‐level accounting and finance management professionals in the Washington, D.C. area. Bass is a trusted advisor and problem‐solver to both hiring managers and candidates, facilitating sound business decision-making and ensuring successful outcomes.

Prior to moving into executive search, Glenn spent eight years in public accounting as a CPA, partially with a regional firm in New York, and then in Washington, D.C. with Grant Thornton.

Kathy Lavinder

Executive Director

Kathy Lavinder is an executive search specialist who founded SI Placement in 2000 after working as an investigator with a leading investigations firm in the 1990s. After a decade of conducting and managing complex investigations for corporations, financial institutions and law firms, Lavinder turned to the challenges of talent acquisition. Today Lavinder is frequently interviewed and often invited to speak about security and investigative topics as well as career issues. Lavinder holds a leadership role within a special interest group for Women in Security and is active with the ACFE, the New York Electronic Crimes Task Force, and the State Department's Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC).

Donn LeVie Jr.

Author, Lecturer and Consultant

Author, consultant and former hiring manager Donn LeVie Jr. has reviewed more than a thousand résumés and cover letters, and interviewed hundreds of candidates for positions in a variety of Fortune 500 companies. LeVie is the author of Confessions of a Hiring Manager Rev 2. 0 (Second Edition), which is the Winner of the 2012 International Book Award for Business/Careers and the Winner of the 2012 Global eBook Award for Careers/Jobs. His two new books, The Art of the Unfair Advantage: Become the Hiring Manager’s Candidate of Choice for ANY Job in ANY Economy, and The Valueocity Factor: Turbo-Charge Your Career Strategy Inside and Outside the Organization in ANY Economy will be available later in 2015.

Besides writing books on job and career strategies and “talent spotting” for hiring managers, he speaks at conferences, college campuses, military installations, trade and business schools, and professional associations on creating and managing effective professional development for job seekers and career changers, and hiring managers.

Kimberly Schneiderman, owner of City Career Services, provides career strategy coaching to goal-oriented managers and executives. She has authored numerous career-related articles and presents workshops on search strategies, interviewing skills, résumés and on-the-job performance tactics. Schneiderman’s clients appreciate the one-on-one attention from her and the immediate results they get with her job search tools and coaching. She welcomes the opportunity to meet with attendees that need guidance on resumes and covers, and with those attendees that need help answering tough interview questions or strategizing around difficult work history situations.

Carl Wellenstein

Carl Wellenstein is a career strategist and coach for those in mid-career who want to facilitate a job change or explore and pursue a new career direction. He is the founder of ExecGlobalNet and author of 12 Steps to a New Career. His prior experience includes Managing Director of a UK-based executive search firm and Partner with Arthur Young & Co (now EY). He is a Board Certified Coach (BCC) and a CPA. With more than 20 years of experience detecting fraudulent activity as an employee, auditor and board member, he feels a special connection with the members of ACFE.

Accessible to all attendees during networking breaks throughout the conference, these career coaches will be at the Career Connection booth to provide expert advice to help you advance your anti-fraud career.One-on-one sessions may be scheduled in advance; sessions are 50 minutes long and cost $50.
