What if I sign up for a concurrent session that is already full?
You will not be able to register for a concurrent session that is full. The session will be marked closed.
When will I receive my name badge?
Your badge will be in your registration packet and will be available when registration opens.
How do I pay with a purchase order?
We will need to have a copy of the purchase order, so either mail or fax it in to us. (Government or educational institutions only).
Will handouts be provided on-site?
Course materials are available online only. A link to the conference materials will be provided via email before the conference and may be printed or downloaded to your laptop, tablet or phone.
How can I pay my balance?
You can pay with a credit card, check, wire transfer, money order or cash on-site.
Do I need a photo ID?
Photo ID is not required.
What if I need to cancel my registration?

What is the cancellation policy?
Our cancellation policy is intended to keep costs low for attendees. Due to financial obligations incurred by the ACFE, you must cancel your registration prior to the start of the event. Cancellations received less than 14 calendar days prior to an event start date are subject to a USD 100 administrative fee. No refunds or credits will be given for cancellations received on or after the start date of the event. Those who do not cancel and do not attend are responsible for the
full registration fee.

What do I wear to the conference?
Dress for all daytime events is business casual. To ensure your comfort during the workshops and other events, please bring a sweater or light jacket. In February, Dubai experiences average temperatures of around 20°C.

Eugene Soltes is the Jakurski Family Associate Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School where his research focuses on how individuals and organisations confront and overcome challenging situations. He teaches in several
of the school’s executive education programs and was awarded the Charles M. Williams Award for outstanding teaching in 2015.
Soltes’ work on corporate misconduct and fraud culminated in the book Why They Do It: Inside the Mind of the White-Collar Criminal, which was described by Kirkus Reviews as “a groundbreaking study” on white-collar criminality. The

of sensitive internal engagements concerning fraud, corruption, contracts, vendors and suppliers, and employee-related issues. Hubbs also has extensive experience with organization-wide anti-fraud and compliance programs and measures,
corporate investigation programs and protocols, and fraud data analytics. He has extensive experience investigating and researching anonymous shell company networks as well as developing analytics and process improvements to combat this
emerging fraud risk area. Hubbs also previously served 13 years as a commissioned law enforcement officer in both Louisiana and Texas.

Bruce Dorris, J.D., CFE, CPA

Bruce Dorris is the President and Chief Executive Officer for the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). He also serves as an advisory member to the ACFE Board of Regents. Dorris has conducted anti-fraud training for the United Nations, the American Bankers Association, colleges and universities around the world, as well as with the FBI, GAO and other federal and state law enforcement agencies in the U.S. Dorris has been with the ACFE for 11 years, previously serving as Vice President and Program Director, and is proud to be involved in the continued growth and professional direction of the world’s largest anti-fraud organization.
Prior to joining the ACFE, Dorris earned his Juris Doctor from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University in 1993 and is licensed to practice law in state and federal courts in Texas and Louisiana. He served as a prosecutor in Louisiana for 13 years, focusing primarily on financial crime investigations.

John F. Sopko was sworn in as Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction on July 2, 2012. Sopko, appointed to the post by U.S. President Barack Obama, has more than 30 years of experience in oversight and investigations as a prosecutor, congressional counsel and senior federal government advisor.
Sopko came to SIGAR from Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, an international law firm headquartered in Washington, D.C., where he had been a partner since 2009.
Sopko’s government experience includes over 20 years on Capitol Hill, where he held key positions in both the Senate and House of Representatives. He served on the staffs of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, the Select Committee on Homeland Security and the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations.
In his most recent congressional post, Sopko was Chief Counsel for Oversight and Investigations for the House Committee on Energy and Commerce. There, he supervised several investigations focused on matters regulated by the Food and Drug Administration, Department of Energy, Department of Commerce, Federal Communications Commission, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission and Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Sopko also served as General Counsel and Chief Oversight Counsel for the House Select Committee on Homeland Security, where he focused on homeland security and counter-terrorism investigations and issues.

Teresa Anaya, CFE

With 25 years of experience, Teresa Anaya’s career has focused on accounting, information technology with the last 10 years in fraud, money laundering and terrorist financing investigations. Anaya draws her knowledge and experience from her work performing investigations for global financial institutions as well as investigations to determine reasons for bank failure for the FDIC in the aftermath of the financial crisis of 2008. Her area of expertise is in the financial institution vertical, specific to global Know Your Customer standards, transaction monitoring and suspicious activity reporting.
In addition to specific investigation experience, including cryptocurrency investigations, she’s experienced in developing requirements for the first line of defense against fraud and anti-money laundering systems utilized in financial institutions. Nick Hourigan is a senior managing director at FTI Consulting and is based in London. Henry Duggan is a managing director with FTI Consulting, leading the Financial Crime practice across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.
During the course of his career, he has led numerous specialist assignments covering sanctions investigations, terrorist finance, fraud/misconduct investigations, accounting irregularities, fraud risk management and AML. He has worked closely with data analytics, forensic technology and intelligence experts to develop advanced methodologies for the investigation of terrorist financing/sanctions breaches for submission to regulatory authorities and law enforcement agencies.
In addition to his consulting experience, Duggan has had extensive exposure to the criminal justice and intelligence aspects of financial crime. Duggan previously held the rank of Senior Officer with the U.K. Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) and was a specialist investigator with this organisation for approximately 8 years. While in this role, he had direct responsibility for conducting investigations into allegations of international fraud, money laundering and associated predicate offences. This gave him considerable experience of gathering intelligence and evidence in support of criminal prosecutions and civil confiscation/restraint proceedings.
