His Excellency Abdulla Mohammed Saeed Ghobash is a former State Minister of the Federal Government, currently holding the position of Director General of Financial Audit Authority of the Government of Dubai since June 2016.
He is a member of the Executive Council of Dubai, a member of the Higher Board of the DIFC, and an independent member of DPW Board.
In his current position in the Financial Audit Authority, he aims to protect the public funds. Whereas, H.E. has worked for the Central Bank and held the position of regional manager of National Bank of Abu Dhabi, in addition to his hands-on
experience in developing audit strategies in the financial institutions, international investments and investment funds. During his tenure in the said bank, he held a number of senior administrative posts and chaired different committees.
Also, he has held previously membership of various boards in the region, including Etisalat, DFM, Nasdaq Dubai, Emaar, Awqaf, Minors Affairs Foundation of Dubai and Noor Bank.
H.E. has further participated in a number of conferences featuring the strategies of the international financial institutions, in addition to his participation in the financial sector budget planning.
H.E. Ghobash holds number of qualifications including a bachelor’s degree, a banking (corporate finance analysis) diploma from The Wharton Business School (of the University of Pennsylvania) and a banking diploma in corporate finance and international
investments from Citibank NA in Athens, Greece. He also holds a banking certificate in International Capital Market from Bankers Trust in London.
